What is The Loving Seed?
We are an Illinois Non-profit dedicated to community (both human and non-human), working with the natural productivity of the Earth to benefit people and nature alike, and living with a sense of purpose.
Mission
To steward land with Regenerative Agriculture, Agroecology and Ecological Restoration while also engaging the community; The Loving Seed is dedicated to regenerating soil microbiomes, recreating healthy habitats for all local biota, addressing food insecurity through donating grown food and empowering farmers with education and connection — all to ensure social, economic and environmental sustainability.
Vision
We envision a harmonious community where humans collaborate with the earth on all ecosystem levels; a community where all people are welcome to learn, work, live and contribute to a more sustainable future. We know there will soon be a day when the native prairies return to The Prairie State; a future where everyone knows how, and loves to grow their own food; a future where no one goes hungry. Our vision for the future is one without greed, hate and delusion. Attainable, yes, and ever-pursuant is The Loving Seed vision.
Values
We value Land, Community, Environmental Justice, Regenerative Agriculture, Restoration Ecology, Art, Homesteading, Spirituality and so much more.
It is crucial that we honor Earth and its native state.
We value sustainability: for future generations to be better off than generations past; whether it be environmental, economic or relational.
We value collaboration: the movement becomes stronger when we join together.
This is no time for complacency nor inaction, so we aim for radical changes to the food system, management of nature and agriculture — including a dismantling of the agroindustrial/petrochemical industries.
Above all, we value love.
